Simple Solutions for Small Appliances

Clean Coffee

Every morning give your awakening aroma a fresh start by eliminating leftover coffee residue and hard water deposits inside your coffee maker. To get rid of unsightly stains, inside of coffee pot, mix one part white distilled vinegar to two parts water. Pour into the reservoir and turn the coffee maker on. Let the mixture run through and let it cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat the process with a fresh mixture and follow the same procedure. Run the coffee maker again with fresh water to rinse. Wash the pot and mesh filter with warm, soapy water and rinse and dry.

Bright Blender

Blending your morning smoothie as you rush out the door can make it difficult to remove leftover particles from the glass and the blades. Clean your blender at least every month. Fill the blender halfway with warm water, dishwashing liquid and a slice of lemon. Run the blender on the low setting for 30 seconds, then drain and rinse thoroughly.

Meticulous Microwave

Warmed-up leftovers and frozen dinners can leave stuck spatters of burnt on food and beverages that can be tough to remove and can stain your microwave. Once a quarter, microwave half a 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar, half a cup of water and a tablespoon of vanilla extract in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds.Carefully remove the bowl and the leftover food will wipe away with ease and leave a clean, fresh-baked cookie scent.

Nice Tutorial! I'm sold - gotta get some cast on the next yard sale hunt - along with a yogurt maker, too. Thanks, Julia! Wow, that Griswold is a work of art now.
