September is National Su***de Prevention Month. 🪶

The fire family is built on brotherhood and sisterhood. We back each other up through smoke, flames, and heavy rescues, and we need to back each other up off the call, too.

This month, let’s pledge to break the stigma around mental health in the fire service:

1ļøāƒ£ Normalize the conversation: Talk openly about the impact of tough calls.

2ļøāƒ£ Know the signs: Watch for changes in mood, isolation, or severe fatigue in your crew.

3ļøāƒ£ Be the bridge: Reach out if someone seems off, a simple "How are you really doing?" can save a life.

šŸ› ļø Resources for Responders:

988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline: Dial 988

Colorado Crisis Services: 1-844-493-TALK or text TALK to 38255

NVFC Share the Load Program: 1-888-731-FIRE

Drop a ā¤ļø in the comments to show support for all our frontline heroes.

Due to accumulating hail damage the past few years, the Goodland radar is getting a new radar dome. The issue is that the radar itself will likely be down through Sep. 9th. You may look at neighboring radars to still see radar data. We will still send watches and warnings.

Ping pong ball hail and 65 mph winds are possible today.

Storms should develop this afternoon along the I-25 Corridor and plains, then organize as they move east and southeast through the evening. The severe threat is highest south of I-76 and farther east. Far eastern Colorado could see gusts near 70 mph.

Get the car under cover and keep warnings turned on.

SEVERE STORMS POSSIBLE TODAY 🌩
Good Wednesday morning friends! Our pattern of afternoon storm chances continues.

Today seems like our highest risk of severe weather so far this week.

Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats.

I'll be watching radar closely this afternoon as these storms would likely be a bit more widespread than what we've seen so far this week as well.

Anytime after 1pm is fair game! Updates as needed today!

Please help us be able to come help you and your family!

We want everyone to go home! That’s why we slow traffic down on the interstate or move it over. That’s why we put out cones, that’s why we wear all the safety gear! Please slow down and move over when you see emergency services on a call or responding to a call!
