Made the newspaper this week. Jack Welch wrote an article about the volunteer cleanup we did on Spruce Avenue Wash to help mitigate potential flooding from the Museum Fire. Jack is amazing. He mobilized 2 dozen volunteers over night!

In the 20 years I've lived in Flagstaff, I can't remember the Spruce Avenue Wash ever being mentioned in a conversation I've been involved with until now. The Museum Fire

Volunteering on behalf of the Arizona Hydrological Society, retired geologist John Noll and I spent 10 hours today mapping Spruce Avenue Wash downstream of Route 66. We looked for trash and debris that could plug culverts and exacerbate post-wildfire flooding in East Flagstaff caused by the Museum Fire. We found a lot of trash. This week I delivered the ditch history investigation final product to Sedona Heritage Museum. Watch for the museum's new water works outdoor exhibit opening in September!

Counting down to completion of the Oak Creek Irrigation Ditch History Project. Was blown away to find 22! ditches existed from Red Rock Loop Road up through Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. They were mostly all built between 1890 and 1915. This project has been great fun. Don't miss the new water works exhibit at Sedona Heritage Museum this fall.
