Update.... a few hours after posting this, we had another response for a fully involved combine fire, making this our 6th call of the day.
Huge shoutout to all of our volunteers today!!! We had a total of 5 calls for service today which is an incredibly busy day for our small department. 3 medical, 1 large field fire, and a combine fire. One of our medical calls was at the same time as we were responding to the combine fire and our volunteers didn't miss a beat and were able to respond to all within minutes. Also a special thank you to the 2 farmers that unexpectedly stopped their own agendas and responded to their neighbors field fire with tractors and disc's to help contain the fire !!
Also thank you to Cornell Fire Dept. For their assistance on the field fire and as always Gridley EMS for being great partners.
