My AI vending machine cost me $4,000 and does about $1,200 a month in sales.
Roughly $595 of that is profit.
Here are my top 5 products:
5: Reese's
Cost per unit: $1.16
Price per unit: $2.50
Units sold: 19
Sales: $47.50 a month
Tip: candy moves on its own at 3pm. You don't need to sell it.
4: Twix, share size
Cost per unit: $2.04
Price per unit: $3.00
Units sold: 16
Sales: $48 a month
The share size costs me pennies more than the regular bar and I sell it for more.
3: Fairlife protein shake
Cost per unit: $2.23
Price per unit: $4.50
Units sold: 11
Sales: $49.50 a month
The most expensive item in my machine, and it still sells.
2: Blue Gatorade
Cost per unit: $0.75
Price per unit: $2.50
Units sold: 21
Sales: $52.50 a month
One flavour outsold every other Gatorade in there.
1: Celsius
Cost per unit: $1.33
Price per unit: $3.50
Units sold: 42
Sales: $147 a month
One energy drink did $147 out of $1,030 in that machine.
People always say nobody pays vending prices for a drink they can buy at the store.
They do, when the store is a drive away and they're on site for hours.
It's the same reason people order DoorDash instead of walking to the restaurant.
People pay for convenience.
That's why the room matters more than the machine. Busy isn't profitable. Captive is.
