Remember those oyster shells we teased a couple weeks ago? 👀

Well… THIS is what we were up to. 🦪🔥

What could have been a traditional fireplace surround is now one of the most interesting features in the entire home. The natural variation, texture, and coastal character of the oyster shells make this fireplace completely one-of-a-kind — and paired with the crisp white built-ins and warm wood floors, it looks even better than we imagined.

We love a project that gives us the opportunity to do something a little unexpected. This one definitely delivered.

What if the space you need is already part of your home — it just needs to be reimagined?

This Jacksonville project turned an existing back porch into a finished living space while keeping that connection to the backyard and pool front and center.

Large windows flood the room with natural light. Glass doors open the space back up when the weather is right. Wood-look tile creates an easy transition to the rest of the home, while the rich tongue-and-groove ceiling adds warmth and character to the entire addition.

And with the adjoining covered patio still providing a comfortable outdoor living area, these homeowners didn’t have to choose between inside and outside. They gained more usable space while making the entire back of the home work better.

Sometimes adding square footage isn’t about building out — it’s about seeing the potential in what you already have.

Things are definitely heating up on this St. Augustine project. 🔥

We’re right in that stage where there’s plenty of dust, tools, protective covering, and work happening behind the scenes — but you can already start to see where it’s headed.

A quick walkthrough doesn’t always show the hours of planning, coordination, and craftsmanship happening along the way, but every detail gets us one step closer to the finished space.

Sometimes the biggest improvement isn’t changing the building — it’s changing the way people arrive.

At St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Macclenny, J.C. Harward & Associates constructed a new covered entrance that completely transformed the front of the church. What was once an exposed entry is now a substantial portico that creates a clear sense of arrival while adding valuable covered space for parishioners and visitors.

And the before-and-after says plenty. The addition feels like it was always meant to be there, complementing the existing architecture rather than competing with it.

That’s the difference thoughtful construction can make: adding function while making the entire property feel more complete.

When the business grows, sometimes the walls have to move with it. 🐾🔨

Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming Fleming Island had the opportunity to expand into the storefront next door — and J.C. Harward & Associates helped turn that additional square footage into a seamless extension of their existing space.

The project brought the two spaces together while creating more room for retail and nearly doubling the grooming area. From opening up the layout and building out the new grooming space to flooring, lighting, finishes and all those unmistakable Woof Gang details, the goal was to make the expansion feel like one cohesive store — not two spaces pieced together.

And looking at the finished result, you'd never know there used to be another business on the other side of that wall.

Cooler evenings are coming… and this is exactly where we’d want to spend them.

This covered porch was designed to feel like a true extension of the home—not just an outdoor space you pass through. The warm wood-look ceiling adds character against the existing brick, while recessed lighting and ceiling fans keep the space comfortable and functional from afternoon into evening.

Add plenty of room for comfortable seating, a beautiful view, and a little fall weather, and suddenly the porch becomes one of the best rooms in the house.

Morning coffee. Dinner outside. A quiet evening with the fans going and nowhere else you need to be. This is outdoor living done right.
