A classroom. A conversation. A place to grab coffee between lessons. They may seem like simple spaces, but at MILA International Language Academy, they’re all part of the experience.

MILA has been helping students learn English for more than 30 years, welcoming people from around the world into an immersive environment designed to build language skills, confidence, and connection.

J.C. Harward & Associates was proud to help create their Jacksonville location — building out classrooms, private offices, learning and gathering spaces, restrooms, a staff kitchenette and the details that bring the entire facility together.

For the students, it’s a place to learn, practice and connect. For teachers and staff, it’s a space designed to support the work they do every day.
And for us, it’s a great example of what a commercial build-out should do: take the needs of a business and turn them into a space that actually works for the people inside it.

Happy Birthday to the man behind J.C. Harward & Associates! 🎉🎂

John is the guy who can walk onto a jobsite as the boss and somehow end up carrying half the tools, solving three problems and answering six phone calls. 😂

But that’s also exactly who he is — hands-on, hardworking, and never asking his team to do something he wouldn’t do himself.

We’re grateful for the leadership, experience, humor, and heart John brings to this company every day — and today, we’re celebrating him.

Happy Birthday to the guy who somehow always ends up being the “somehow.” 😂🎉

For the past three years, Tripp has been the guy we can count on when something needs to be figured out, handled, fixed.

But in all honesty, we’re incredibly grateful for everything Tripp brings to J.C. Harward & Associates. He’s hardworking, dependable, always willing to jump in where he’s needed, and has become an important part of our crew over these last three years.

Laundry rooms don’t have to be big to work beautifully.

This one started with an oversized utility sink, side-by-side washer and dryer, builder-grade tile, and a layout that simply wasn’t making the best use of the space.

Working alongside Lauren Cole Creative on the design, we reimagined the room around how the homeowners actually needed to use it. A stacked all-in-one washer and dryer opened up valuable floor space, while custom cabinetry added plenty of storage, a hanging bar, and even an in-wall ironing board.

And because good design is often about the little things, there’s a dedicated spot for the litter box tucked beneath the countertop. 🐾

New 12x24 flooring and that soft pink backsplash bring it all together with just enough personality.

It’s proof that sometimes the smallest rooms deserve some of the biggest attention.

There are some projects you approach differently.

At the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios, craftsmanship carries a responsibility far beyond simply building something well. These sacred grounds are deeply rooted in the history of St. Augustine and have welcomed generations of people seeking a place for prayer, reflection, and pilgrimage. 🕊

For J.C. Harward & Associates, being entrusted with work here was both an honor and a responsibility we took to heart. From the handcrafted Stations of the Cross to the pathways and surrounding landscape, each detail was thoughtfully executed to honor the purpose and significance of this sacred place.

We’re proud of the craftsmanship. But even more than that, we’re grateful to have played a small part in a place that means so much to so many.

Some projects are built to be used. Others are built to endure, inspire, and mean something. This was one of those projects. 🙏
