Decided to go with an eagle scene on the peg head of ā€My Grandsonā€™s Guitarā€. Thinking it goes with the theme of the fish jumping out of water that I put on the fretboard.

This, by the way, is the roughed out neck. Got a little work to do but little by little it will turn out. The wood of choice is Spanish cedar. Good tonal qualities, very light which works nice with this little parlor guitar and easy to carve.

I havenā€™t posted for a while cause Iā€™ve been quite busy. In any case this is my latest build. Itā€™s my grandsonā€™s guitar....

I havenā€™t posted for a while cause Iā€™ve been quite busy. In any case this is my latest build. Itā€™s my grandsonā€™s guitar. Mind you, heā€™s only 4 months old, however this is something very special for me to build. Itā€™s an heirloom that he will be able to remember me by in years to come. The body is ready for finish, itā€™s a parlor guitar that I decided to put an arm bevel on. The back and sides are made from East Indian Rosewood and the top is made from a Master Grade piece of Bear Claw Sitka Spruce. Iā€™m currently working on the fretboard and will post pictures of it as I get the time.
