This is a hospital ER bill. When hospitals were forced to publish fee schedules they began to reduce the cost of the emergency room fees but as you can see they have just pushed the cost into other services. This obviously is price-gouging and this same hospital will tell you that a freestanding emergency center will charge you more. I encourage everyone to go out to facility websites in your area and look at freestanding pricing. You'll be surprised.
