Gosh. First, rain all of November and December, didn’t get completed what we had hoped at Cherry Creek and with the weird weather we were a month late getting going at Calf Creek- then just in time for spring…..oh well. We have a lot of iron on the hill. Thanks Dyrk Krueger at Enhanced Forest Management for helping us make up some time. Oh yeah. Rooster got turned into a skidder for the winter😛

Back to Cherry Creek for about a month or so. Trying to finish up the big unit before moving to Hamilton for the winter. The big purpose for this is to reduce the crown fire potential along the private boundary. This was a very dense patch as you can tell by all the wood in the ground. This is good neighbor forestry at its best

A few pics of our East Fork Powerline project. We basically never cut large diameter trees on our forestry projects. In this case they posed a significant threat of falling in the line and cutting power to about 250 people. Big thanks to all who helped us get it done in time

A project is underway along the East Fork of the Bitterroot to reduce fire risk to the power lines that serve more than 280 homes.

Arno Forestry is seeking an equipment operator to join our small, family-owned logging crew.

We are looking for someone to run our TimberPro 840D Forwarder full time. Qualified applicants would need to demonstrate expertise in running and maintaining heavy equipment. Since our jobs vary in location across western and central MT, it will be important for this employee to be able to camp/stay on or near these jobs. Compensation will be based on experience and production capacity. There will be potential for increases or bonuses based on high production capacity and tenure.

This job would be ideal for someone who loves living and working in the woods. Someone who has worked in logging before would have a great understanding of what a normal day entails and would be able to get up to speed quickly, and if that person is comfortable performing repairs to equipment, it will improve their downtime. A person who enjoys working toward production goals would thrive in this role as our success is based on our outputs.

Hi Everyone. Our Cherry Creek project in Thompson Falls has a large quantity of standing dead Douglas fir, and we are going to have a large supply of firewood available. Our hope would be a firewood dealer would be interested and we could supply you with really nice dry Doug Fir. 150-200 loads available. I would hate to let it go for pulp. It’s been a bit, actually it’s been one of the longest, hardest, and gut wrenching winters. Through a series of crazy twists and turns we found ourselves with no work from last Thanksgiving to just a few weeks ago. I don’t know how He did it but somehow God sustained us and now we are working again. Our mission is to Steward the Earth. To make this place better by what we do. All of this belongs the Him who made it. First project this spring was to breathe new life into a road system on the Calf Creek Wildlife MAnagement Area. Then, we just transitioned to our Cherry Creek GNA project near Thompson Falls. More fresh roadwork. And much needed removal of standing dead trees and fuels along private boundaries.
