June is National Safety Month, and for us at Shoals Box & Pallet, safety starts with our people.

Every pallet built, every box handled, every load wrapped, and every truck loaded involves real people who are working hard to serve our customers well. That is why safety matters so much to us.

We are grateful for the safety records our team continues to build, and we never want to take that for granted. Safe work does not happen by accident. It takes focus, consistency, teamwork, and a company-wide commitment to doing things the right way.

At Shoals Box & Pallet, we believe safety should be recognized and encouraged. That is why we have safety bonuses in place for our team, because when our people work safely, everyone benefits. Our employees are protected, our customers are served better, and our operation runs stronger.

Packaging specs still matter, too. Pallets built to the right standard, boxes made to the correct dimensions and board grade, and stretch film used properly all help prevent unstable loads, damaged product, delays, and unsafe handling conditions.

But at the heart of it all are the people.

We are thankful for our team and the care they put into their work every day.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is something we should never take lightly, and we are deeply grateful for the freedoms we enjoy because of their courage.

As we spend time with family, friends, and loved ones this weekend, may we also take time to reflect on the true meaning of this day. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend, it is a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the selfless service of those who gave everything.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
John 15:13

In acknowledgement of this special day, our office will be closed on Memorial Day. We hope everyone has a safe and meaningful weekend as we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The right box does more than hold a product. It protects your time, your inventory, and your bottom line.

When corrugated packaging is properly sized and built for the job, it can help reduce damage, wasted space, unnecessary filler, and shipping headaches.

Whether it’s a standard RSC, a custom box, pads, partitions, die-cuts, or corrugated sheets, having the right packaging in place makes a real difference in day-to-day operations.

At Shoals Box & Pallet, we work with customers to find corrugated solutions that fit their products, their processes, and their needs.

As a local packaging partner, we’re here to help keep your operation moving with reliable service, practical solutions, and packaging that’s ready when you need it.

For nearly 20 years, our branded trailer has sat outside our building as a familiar part of the landscape here at Shoals Box & Pallet.

This week, we moved it.

Honestly, we needed the space. And that’s a good problem to have.

To some, moving a trailer may seem like a small thing. But for a growing company, simple changes can represent something much bigger. Growth is a great thing, but it also requires us to take a hard look at what we need, what we use, and how we can make the best use of the space and resources we have.

Progress doesn’t always show up in big, flashy moments. Sometimes it looks like moving something that’s been in the same place for decades so we can make room for what’s next.

We’re grateful for where we’ve been, thankful for the growth we’re experiencing, and excited for where we’re going.

This morning, we had the special opportunity to celebrate Bob, our driver, with a retirement party.

Bob began working with Shoals Box & Pallet on July 1st, 2019, and at 67 years young, he has certainly earned this next chapter. Over the years, Bob has become such an important part of our work family, and he will always remain part of it.

Those who have had the pleasure of knowing Bob know that he brings kindness, dependability, and excellence into the way he serves each day. He has represented our company well, and we are incredibly thankful for the time, effort, and care he has given to our team and our partners.

As part of the celebration, Bob was presented with a Rudis sword, a meaningful symbol in military tradition. Both Bob and our operations manager (Greg) are Army veterans, which made this moment especially meaningful. In that tradition, the gifting of a sword upon retirement represents the end of a long and honorable career, while also honoring the service, sacrifice, and dedication shown along the way.

Many also know that outside of work, Bob enjoys baking delicious desserts, a fitting hobby for someone who has brought so much warmth to those around him.

Bob, thank you for your years of service and for being such a meaningful part of Shoals Box & Pallet. We wish you all the best as you enjoy more time for rest, family, baking, and everything retirement has to offer.

Congratulations on your retirement!

This Earth Day, we're reminded that sustainability is such an important part of how many companies do business.

At Shoals Box & Pallet, we're always eager to help our customers identify practical ways to support their sustainability goals while keeping their operations running strong.

We believe good service means looking for solutions that create value not only for today, but for the future as well.

Lumber prices have continued to face upward pressure this year across the central Southeast, and several factors have played a role.

In parts of the Southern Yellow Pine market, some lumber categories used heavily in pallet manufacturing have risen more than 40% since early January.

Rising fuel and freight costs have added pressure throughout the supply chain, while sawmill curtailments, tighter stock, and limited trucking availability have made supply more difficult to move consistently.

The broader timber supply chain is also facing longer-term challenges, including labor and succession pressure in parts of the industry, which can add strain to an already tight market.

For companies that depend on pallets and wood packaging, these shifts are a reminder of how important it is to plan ahead and stay proactive.

At Shoals Box & Pallet, we are committed to helping our partners navigate changing market conditions with dependable service, communication, and packaging solutions they can count on.

On Good Friday, we remember Jesus Christ and the price He willingly paid on the cross for our redemption.

This day reminds us of the depth of His love, the weight of His sacrifice, and the hope we have because of Him.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

Here at Shoals Box & Pallet, we pause today to reflect on what Good Friday truly means.

It is because of Jesus that we have grace, mercy, and the promise of hope. We are humbled by His sacrifice and grateful for His love, and we pray today is a meaningful day spent with loved ones for our team, our partners, and our community.

Every successful operation is supported by a strong supply chain, and at Shoals Box & Pallet, we know there are many important partners behind the work we do every day.

One of those essential parts of our supply chain is the companies that provide our nails and other fasteners. These materials play a major role in helping us build the pallets our customers rely on to move, store, and protect their products. They may be just one part of the process, but they are a very important one.

In 2025, we used an estimated 22,450,000 nails in our pallet production. That would stretch about 886 miles laid end to end, about the distance from Florence, Alabama to Queens, New York!

It is a fun way to picture the scale of what goes into pallet manufacturing, but it is also a reminder of how important every partner in the supply chain really is.

We are thankful for the companies that help supply the materials we depend on, and we never want to lose sight of the role those partnerships play in helping us serve our customers well.

Just as our suppliers are an important part of our success, we work hard to be that same dependable part of our customers' supply chains every single day.

At Shoals Box & Pallet, strong partnerships are what keep business moving.

At Shoals Box & Pallet, we know on-time delivery is about more than good service, it keeps our partners operations running.

When a business runs low on pallets, boxes, or stretch film, it can create delays that ripple through production and shipping. And those interruptions are expensive.

Some industry research shows unplanned downtime in manufacturing can average around $92,000 per hour, with some outages costing millions of dollars.

That's why we take dependable delivery seriously.

Our goal is to help our partners stay stocked, stay moving, and avoid the kind of downtime that can disrupt an entire operation.

We're proud to serve our partners with packaging solutions they can count on.
