Portions of Mapleton are under a Level 3 fire evacuation notice and are without power. Our equipment serving the Mapleton area is offline at the moment. As soon as the evacuation orders are lifted, we'll respond to identify any damage and see what if any repairs are needed.

Our phones are down at the moment.... Our phone provider uses Google Cloud, who is actually having the issue. Please email into [email protected] or swing by the office if you have an immediate need.

For those curious, a bunch of large cloud providers are having issues today, including AWS, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, and Microsoft. If you have a site that won't load, you can always check downdetector.com, which currently has this on the homepage.

In today's digital age, password security is more important than ever. With the rapid advancement of technology, hackers are becoming increasingly adept at cracking passwords through brute force attacks. But just how long would it take a hacker to brute force your password in 2025? Let's dive into the details provided by Hive Systems and understand the importance of creating strong passwords.

The image from Hive Systems illustrates the time it takes for a hacker to brute force a password based on its length and complexity using hardware with 12 x RTX 5090 and bcrypt (10) as the password hash. The table categorizes passwords into four types: Numbers Only, Lowercase Letters, Upper and Lowercase Letters, and Upper and Lowercase Letters with Symbols.

Here’s a breakdown of what this means:

- Numbers Only: Passwords consisting solely of numbers are extremely vulnerable. For example, an 8-character numeric password can be cracked instantly.
Lowercase Letters: Adding lowercase letters slightly increases security but not significantly. An 8-character lowercase letter password can be cracked in just 57 minutes.

- Upper and Lowercase Letters: Including both uppercase and lowercase letters improves security further. An 8-character mixed-case letter password would take about 7 hours to crack.

- Upper and Lowercase Letters with Symbols: The most secure option includes uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. An 8-character complex password would take approximately 4 days to crack.

As we move towards longer passwords:

- A combination of upper and lowercase letters with symbols becomes exponentially more secure.

- For instance, a 12-character complex password could take up to 3000 years to crack.

This data underscores the importance of using long, complex passwords that combine different character types. Simple numeric or single-case letter passwords are no longer sufficient in protecting against modern hacking techniques.
