Wonderful SHBA General Membership Meeting last night at Champy's! Over 90 members came out for a great meal, networking, and to hear about health insurance benefits for members. Guest speaker was Matt Cate with HBAA Health Insurance - BuildersHealthTrust.com. Much thanks to Wade Baker and his staff at Champy's for a successful event!

Another great networking meeting for Shoals Home Builders members last night at The Rock Red Clay event center in Sheffield. Delicious steak dinner, important information about protecting business accounts, and lots of networking! We'll meet again in May at Ray's at the Bank in Florence.

Another great SHBA meeting! Chip Carden & Seth Gowan from the Alabama Home Builders Licensure Board spoke to the group about the importance of being a licensed builder and upcoming changes to the residential building code. SHBA president Dale Dobbs explained the importance of having workers comp insurance to protect businesses from dire financial loses. He encouraged members to participate in the Alabama Home Builders Self Insurance workers comp program and the Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance program.

Shoals Home Builders Association just had another great General Membership meeting with 86 in attendance! Guest speaker from state home builders association-HBAA, Kory Boling gave attendees information about establishing an Alabama Homebuilding Academy in the Shoals area. This 8 week program is designed to teach building trades at NO cost to enrollees. More information on this at a later date. Other upcoming SHBA events – pheasant shoot in March & golf tournament in May – were also discussed. If you are in the building trades, please consider joining the Shoals Home Builders Association! Another great SHBA General Membership meeting last night at the Red Clay Event Center! Over 90 came out to network and enjoy a delicious steak dinner. (Ged Grimmett), Fernandez Concrete Construction (Carlos Fernandez), Fresh Works (John Fulmer), PROFAB X (Manny Ricardo), Rogers Septic Service (Eric Rogers), & 1st Choice Heating & Cooling (Corey Faires).

The Shoals Home Builders celebrated their Holiday Awards & Hall of Fame Banquet last night at The Rock Event Center with over 100 in attendance. Chris Brink was inducted into the SHBA Hall of Fame and celebrated with a host of friends and family. Awards were given for: SHBA Associate of the Year - Scott Harper; SHBA Builder of the Year - Shaun Jones; Insurance SPIKE Recruitment - HJL Insurance; Associate SPIKE Recruitment - Beth Pirtle; Builder SPIKE Recruitment - Nelson McClish. Past state HBAA President, Mark Reid inducted new 2026 Board of Directors & Associate Council officers and 2026 SHBA President, Dale Dobbs. Past President, Chad Baker also presented Dale Dobbs with a National Home Builders Associatioon award for service as 2025 SHBA president. Members enjoyed a delicious steak dinner prepared by The Red Clay Table in addition to fun, holiday networking!
