Hi guys! 👋

Kevin and I are so excited to share some news with you all! We’ve decided to lease the 1866 Coffee Shop to two of our very close friends, Keith and David, originally from Boston. 🇺🇸❤️

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome them to Florence and can’t wait for you all to get to know them and show them the same love and support you’ve shown us.

So, Florence, let’s give Keith & David a HUGE welcome! 🎉❤️

✨ WHY “THE 1866”? ✨

It’s probably the question we’re asked more than any other…

“Why did you call it The 1866?”

Well, if you’re born and raised in Florence, you may already know the answer. ❤️

1866 was the year Florence, Arizona was founded by Levi Ruggles.

But that’s only the beginning of the story…

1866 was quite a year. It was also the year the Jack Daniel Distillery was officially registered, the year a successful transatlantic telegraph cable connected Europe and North America, the year Gregor Mendel published the work that became the foundation of modern genetics, and the year associated with the legendary Wi******er Model 1866.

And there are plenty more stories where those came from. 👀

As you walk through The 1866, little pieces of that incredible year will begin to reveal themselves — in the walls, the décor, the drinks and the stories we tell.

We want The 1866 to be more than somewhere you eat or enjoy a drink.

We want it to be a little journey through history — celebrating Florence, Arizona, the year it all began, and a few fascinating things happening around the world at the very same time.

1866 wasn’t just a year.

It was the beginning of a story.

And soon, we get to add another chapter. ❤️

☕❤️ An Update from The 1866 ❤️☕

Many of you have been asking when we'll be reopening, and we wanted to give everyone a quick update.

If there's one thing we've learned during this process, it's that timelines don't always go according to plan! While we had originally hoped to open by July 1st, it's becoming clear that this date isn't realistic.

We're currently waiting on permits and approvals, which we hope to receive in the coming days. As soon as those are in place, we'll be able to get started on the work needed to bring The 1866 to life.

We know you're excited, and trust us—we're just as excited as you are!

The support, encouragement, and messages we've received from this community have meant the world to us, and we're incredibly grateful for your patience while we work through the final steps.

The good news is that every day brings us one step closer.

We're building something special, and we'd rather take the time to do it right than rush it.

We'll continue to keep everyone updated as things progress, and the moment we have a firm opening date, you'll be the first to know.

‼️BIG NEWS FROM 1866 COFFEE SHOP ☕✨

We wanted to give our wonderful customers a heads-up that 1866 Coffee Shop will be temporarily closing for the next six weeks as we begin an exciting renovation.

During this time, we’ll be working hard behind the scenes to complete our brand-new seating area and make some fantastic improvements to your coffee shop experience.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your patience and continued support.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to the City of Florence for working closely with us and supporting this project — it means a lot to our small business and our community.

But trust us… it will be worth the wait 👀
