Spending 12 days with my son this summer has reinforced a fundamental lesson: time is both fleeting and elastic. We often hear that life is short, and that we must focus on what truly matters – ourselves, our children, our fellow humans, and our planet. Our impromptu trip to Europe brought this lesson to life. Without a fixed itinerary, we visited several countries, savored various cuisines, and marveled at historical wonders. Through this journey, I realized how deeply my son is an extension of me and his mother. Watching him transition from a tween to a teen, I discovered that he loves being a child, which filled me with immense happiness and pride.

During our travels, I taught him how to navigate mass transit in cities like Paris, Rome, Barcelona, and Frankfurt, while he taught me greater patience. I showed him how to recognize potential dangers, and he found humor in the train announcement, "beware of pickpockets."

These days, though brief, felt like an endless treasure. Yet, as we return home, I know I'll yearn for these moments and wish for him to be 12 forever. Quitting my job to look inward and spend time with my children has been the best decision of my life. It gave me 12 unforgettable days with my son in 2024, 8 precious days with my daughter in 2023, the hope to reconnect with my older child child and the guidance to focus my life to a profession that really matters.

But really Ric, how important is a notebook to these children, why should I donate?
The consequences of not providing children the tools to receive an education are catastrophic, and yes there are many places we can point our fingers at; but we don't have the time for that.
Dear Future - NGO provides Notebooks, pencils, crayons, rulers, hygienic pads. The lack of access to materials keeps millions, ~250 million more exactly, at home when they should be in school. Boys and girls choose to stay home because they will not have a 1 pencil and 1 notebook. Girls stay at home defeated, because they can't humanely manage their periods...
The consequences are catastrophic if we let that happen.
Please help us with a donation, we will not stop until we've done everything we can this year, and then again next....

Do you see the hummingbird?
I often see great art bundled with kindness in our Dear Future penpals going to remote Peru or Uganda; but wow!!
The Art and kindness that recently came in from the students at Flower Mound High School has left me speechless.... Thank you!
These were made by students in Ms. Whitten Spanish classes, and are going to deep and remote villages in the Andes of Peru to uplift children fighting the fight to stay in school.

This is what I call "where the rubber meets the road" This school in Uganda was built by Dear Future - NGO to ensure children in this community can access an education, no matter how much they can't afford. This school endowed to and managed by NM foundation is free to our children and funded by kind donors globally. If you would like to learn more about this school hit me up! First: Big thank you to our donors, who helped us get this accomplished. Goal: To help Casa Hogar La Divina Providencia, an orphan home that takes children from new born to teen ages. To participate in their project to renovate their kitchen and their cooking equipment. Stretch goal: to donate 3 or 4 laptops to help the school age children with their education. [ 159 more words ]
