Early in my career, I believed that saying "yes" to everything was the key to growth. New tasks? Yes. Overtime? Yes. Projects outside my scope? Yes again.

What I learned over time is that growth doesn’t come from saying "yes" to everything — it comes from saying "yes" intentionally.

Learning to set boundaries, focus on high-impact work, and advocate for clarity has not only improved my performance — it’s made me a better teammate and leader.

Saying "no" respectfully is not a weakness — it’s a sign of self-awareness.
Focus is more valuable than being perpetually busy.
Your time is a tool — not just a resource.

1️⃣ Misclassifying Employees – Treating employees as independent contractors to avoid taxes and benefits? The IRS and DOL are cracking down on this! You may also be misclassifying employees as exempt from overtime when they shouldn't be!

Leaders, be mindful of where you invest your energy!

Every organization has three types of employees:

Champions – They believe in the mission, push for progress, and bring positivity.

Observers – They’re undecided, watching closely to see where the momentum goes.

Doubters – They resist change and often focus on what can’t be done.

While it’s important to hear concerns, don’t let the Doubters dominate your time. If you do, the Observers may drift toward negativity, and even some Champions may lose motivation.

Instead, reinforce and support your Champions—they set the tone and influence the rest. The energy you feed will shape your culture. Choose wisely!
