Good day today at Farmers Market in Bellaire. I made A bit of money, but what made it a good day was happy customers walking away from my bench satisfied. I love the look on people's faces when I exceed their expectations. Three pair of pruners, three pairs of scissors Various and sundry knives. I had two Gerbers and a Buck today. And my left arm is minus more hair. I had the opportunity to sharpen two knives for veterans. Today was a good day. Thank you Ohio and West By God Virginia for allowing me to put an edge on your stuff.

My name is Max, and I sharpen stuff. I was a young man (about nine years old) when my grandad told me I had an eye and a hand for sharpening. That was about 1965. My grandad, born in 1892, was a carpenter, sharpened his saws and knives by hand. I was (like most grandsons) in awe of my grandfather. I became a carpenter too, just by chance. And I had to sharpen my own tools. Chisels, and plane irons translated into pocket knives, and hunting knives. I sharpened the claws on my hammer to keep me from sliding off a steep roof. And finally I realized that My grandad has passed to me genetically, or by mere presence an innate ability to build a good edge. I'm good at sharpening stuff. If you have dull stuff that is driving you crazy, bring it by my house, or the farmers market in St. Clairsville or Bellaire.
