☀️ When the solar panels become part of the classroom.

At Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, solar is doing more than producing clean energy.

Students and teachers are getting hands-on experience with how solar actually works — from assembling small demonstration arrays to accessing real-time production data from the school’s rooftop systems.

Accord Power completed rooftop solar installations on Riverdale’s Hill Campus, including the student center. Working with the school’s sustainability and technology teams and project developer Radial Power, the system’s energy data is now becoming part of science, engineering, and environmental studies.

That’s a powerful idea: build the infrastructure, then teach from it.

🌾➡️☀️ From Farm to Future: Lewisboro's Onatru Farm Park Goes Solar!

This is one of our favorite kinds of projects — not just because of the engineering, but because of the story behind it.

Onatru Farm Park started as farmland, donated to the Town of Lewisboro to become the community gathering place it is today: ball fields, soccer games, town events, families, kids. Now, part of that same beloved park is generating clean electricity to help power the town's own facilities there.

Accord Power was selected by the Town of Lewisboro to build the solar installation at the park's Main Barn — a 24.36 kW system designed to cover the vast majority of the site's electricity needs. It took a real team effort: the Town, project manager Robert Fischman of Sustainable Promise, an engineering team that designed around the property's existing electrical setup, state funding secured by Senator Pete Harckham, and our crew handling the construction.

Thanks to combined state and federal incentives, the Town's out-of-pocket cost is projected to pay for itself in about a year.

It's a great example of what's possible when a small town, smart engineering, and public investment come together — turning everyday electricity bills into long-term community infrastructure. 💡

Public Storage and Solar Landscape are teaming up on 60 rooftop community solar projects in northern Illinois, 44 MW total in ComEd territory over the next two years.

ComEd’s CEO notes these projects help close the supply-demand gap and deliver bill savings, with the utility expecting ~400 community solar sites by year-end. The deal is backed by Illinois’ CEJA and CRGA policies, is projected to support 300 construction jobs, and includes strong local workforce training partnerships. Public Storage is also expanding its industry-leading solar program toward 1,300 properties by the end of 2026.
