NOW HIRING ~ Maintenance Technician I

Blow Molded Specialties is looking for a dependable, motivated Maintenance Technician I to join our growing maintenance team. If you enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, and learning new skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you!
In this role, you'll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, assist with repairs, and help keep our production equipment operating safely and efficiently. You'll work alongside experienced maintenance professionals who are committed to helping you grow your technical skills and advance your career.
What You'll Do
• Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Complete minor repairs and replace worn or damaged components.
• Respond to maintenance requests to help minimize production downtime.
• Assist with equipment installations, moves, and machine setup.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
• Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Learn new maintenance skills through hands-on training.
• Perform basic welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as experience allows.
Additional Responsibilities
• Assist with facility and grounds maintenance.
• Help manage maintenance parts and supply inventory.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Cross-train in multiple maintenance disciplines.
• Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability.
• Assist senior maintenance technicians with larger repair projects.
• Support outside contractors during maintenance and installation projects.
• Participate in safety inspections and housekeeping efforts.
• Assist production and processing departments when needed to support customer commitments.
• Participate in emergency response activities as required.
• Serve on the rotating on-call schedule for the facility sprinkler monitoring system.
What We're Looking For
Education
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, vocational training, or coursework in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• A willingness to learn and grow within industrial maintenance
• Experience using hand tools and power tools safely
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to use (or willingness to learn) electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters and amp meters
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Good organization and time management
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for assistance
• Flexibility and a positive attitude in a changing production environment
Working Conditions
• Manufacturing/industrial environment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting
• Exposure to machinery, noise, heat, cold, and other industrial conditions
• Overtime, weekend work, and occasional holidays may be required
• Participation in an on-call rotation for the facility sprinkler monitoring system is required
