I've been so absent from this page.... such a shame really. A few babies have been born since my last update and suddenly as of the past couple of weeks I have had several inquiries. I have two consults this coming weekend and am really looking forward to them. Babies Babies Babies!

Numerous clinical studies have found that a doula’s presence at birth:
Tends to result in shorter labors with fewer complications
Reduces negative feelings about one’s childbirth experience
Reduces the need for pitocin, forceps or vaccum extraction and cesareans

Lovely way of putting this into perspective...

VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) is big. A google search for ‘vbac’ results in ‘about 1,390,000′ results. Reviews, guidelines, policies and statements are being produced by every organisation with an interest in birth. Support groups and networks are growing. I am not going to add to this wealth

Just had a lovely visit with my family that gave birth this last weekend. Such a peaceful little baby girl they have!! I love the re-living of the birth story!

Even last night amidst mistly male realtors, insurance execs, productivity coaches and the like... The topic turned to birth and to our stories. We as women will always remember and love to tell of our experiences.

How fun! I was just at my team meeting at Keller Williams and met another doula! It turns out that being in real estate is the perfect "day job" for a doula! Flexible hours etc!

The real strength and power of "woman" is never exhibited so well as through birth. I implore young women to witness labor and birth and see firsthand this beauty that only we posses!
