Greenway Recycling has been purchased by Republic Services. Commercial accounts will be serviced as they were before and many by the same employees. The Fordland facility will not remain open. It has been our pleasure to serve the area for over 25 years.

Yes! Please take the bags with you!!

Keep it loose! Don't bag your recyclables--whether you use a curbside bin or take it to a recycling center. If you store your recyclables in a bag, simply empty the recyclables into the bin and reuse the bag!

Check out the Waste Wizard, a searchable online tool aimed at connecting citizens to a wealth of recycling and donation options in Springfield. Type an item or keyword into the search bar and the Wizard will provide a list of locations in the area where that item is accepted for recycling or disposal.

Breaking down cardboard boxes and cutting them to a size that fits in your bin:
📦 Creates more space in your recycling bin.
📦 Keeps other recyclables from getting trapped inside boxes.
📦 Allows cardboard to fall freely from your bin when it is emptied.

Just a reminder that candy wrappers can’t go in the recycling bin. They are often made of mixed materials (plastic, aluminum and paper), which are difficult to separate for recycling. However, it may be possible to recycle the plastic bags the candy came in (wherever plastic bags are accepted for recycling). for
