As I look at this photo of me overseeing another successful solar installation, I can't help but reflect on the journey that brought me to this point. It all started when I was just 16 years old, working for my late brother-in-law's roofing company. Over the years, I gained invaluable experience and knowledge in the roofing industry, eventually landing a job in distribution and sales of roofing materials. It was there that I learned the technical side of the business and gained insight into what goes on behind the scenes.

Fast forward to 2012, when I decided to start my own roofing company. It was a risk, but I was driven by my passion for the industry and the desire to provide homeowners with high-quality roofing services. And now, years later, I am proud to say that we have served hundreds of homeowners in the Northeast region, with plans to continue expanding our reach.

More recently, we've ventured into the world of solar, and it's been an exciting new chapter for our company. With dozens of solar installations already lined up for the season, we are on pace for an amazing first quarter in the solar industry. How is the roof "free" when going solar? It is essential to know the process and make a decision based on as much information as possible if you are considering going solar. Solar energy is a clean and renewable form of energy that can dramatically cut your reliance on fossil fuels and minimize the amount you spend on your monthly energy bills. However, before you make the transfer, there are a few things you should be aware of and consider carefully.

The roof is one component of the solar process that is frequently disregarded for some reason. There are numerous solar firms that promote "free roofing" as a component of their solar package; however, the reality is that nothing is ever truly free.
