I got my new bucket hooked up and ready for work. These buckets help in tight areas where it can be hard to get for grading, like alongside houses between fences etc… They are also good for cutting a clean looking culvert for good runoff alongside driveways or roads.

This week’s project had me back in Aberdeen. We were going to replace the concrete slab with a new one, but correctly sloped away from the house. But the homeowner made the wise decision to go with a deck instead. Almost got rained out though, Friday rain fell the entire day. Not fun. But I got it finished today and made the 3 hour drive back home.

Got back to my other project this week after working on another bid for a larger project on Monday. Just about got it finished the past 2 days. I think I’ll be done tomorrow. I didn’t get a great picture because it was almost 7 when I wrapped up but I’ll get another tomorrow. I had a surprise inspection today by the homeowner’s cat. She was quite thorough, even checked the attic space behind the false wall. I did have to help her back down though.

I’m back in Aberdeen picking up where I left off. Made quite a bit of progress cleaning up the grade at the back end of the house. Removed the concrete slab that was sloped and draining water to the house. It appears thatat one point the grade was lower and there wasa retaining wall that at some point was just buried. Also have pictures showing all the damage caused to the structure by having water running to the house and dirt and rock covering the siding. We are now planning on adding a deck on this side of the house to give it a clean look after we replace the damaged siding and sheathing behind.

Did some work for a customer today. The previous owners idea of cleaning up the land for sale was to bulldoze all the trash and trees into a ravine and partially bury it with dirt. Pulled a huge pile of wood and trash out as well as pulling a few stumps and drilling a couple holes with my auger.

Just about wrapped up. I excluded paint because I’m not a painter and don’t really want to be, so once the last of the trim goes on and finish touches on the grading, this project will be complete. I’m going to be replacing the door on the old pump house, and I suspect I will need to replace some sub framing, so I’m holding off on siding over that section for the time being.

Getting close to being done. I’ll tell you, this hardie siding is very heavy and hard to do by yourself. Working through this plague of stink bugs though is about pushing me over the edge. Started out grading and back filling the grade around the building. It’s really starting to come together.
