Mid-Atlantic Associates has successfully employed Beacon Environmental passive soil gas samplers to assist a developer in Wilson. Mid-Atlantic’s selection of a cost-effective sampling technique allowed the developer to proceed at their pace and make well-informed decisions while avoiding potential delays due to driller or laboratory availability. Beacon Environmental remains fully operational and is meeting all the sample testing needs of our customers and consultants. Our laboratory is on a normal schedule and sample testing has continued with no down time.

Our top priority is the safety of our team members, our customers, and vendors! Beacon continues to closely monitor and follow all regulations and restrictions as outlined by our government and local authorities. This includes limits on travel and social distancing.

We have implemented any procedures necessary to ensure that our customers continue to receive the excellent service, timely product deliveries and superior technical support they’ve come to expect from Beacon.

Unless you work at a laboratory, you probably didn't know it is National Periodic Table Day.
On February 7, 1863, English chemist John Newlands published one of the first table of elements, which divided the known 56 elements into 11 groups based on the “Law of Octaves.” This suggested that any one element will have similar properties to elements eight places before and behind it on the table.
So raise a glass of C₂H₅OH and toast Mr. Newlands!

Proud to have worked with Mauricio Sabbag and Alexandre Picchi with Conam on an important project to evaluate whether any v***r intrusion risks from VOCs remained after their effective remediation program at a site where residences will be constructed. Results are being presented at the Ekos Seminar in Sao Paulo.

Beacon has received laboratory accreditation by the New York Department of Health for the analysis of air and emissions samples via US EPA Methods TO-17 and TO-15. This accreditation is in conformance with the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference Standards (2003). The scope of accreditation includes 58 VOCs certifying Beacon can report a broad range of compounds in air or soil gas with demonstrated accuracy and defensibility.

Beacon’s President, Harry O’Neill, presented at the IPH Environmental Workshop at the University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brasil on June 19 2018. The workshop was very well attended (> 150 entries) and with very good feedback.

Today is the second workshop in Curitiba at the University of Paraná and will also have a large participation.
