Glendell O. Webb, age 82, of Raleigh, MS passed away Saturday October 10, 2026, at Lackey Memorial Hospital of Forest. G.O., as he was affectionately known, was born September 23, 1944, to Olen and Selva Mae Thornton. G.O. attended and graduated from Raleigh High School in 1962. G.O. was known for having a servant’s heart, he could be found at any benefit or auction, or behind the fryers, frying fish. He gave a tremendous amount of time to the citizens of Smith County, serving as election commissioner for Beat 5 for over 50 years. He also enjoyed giving to the Lord in worship by singing for over 30 years with the Leaf River Boys Quartet. G.O. loved his farm, planting vegetables for all his friends and neighbors, but he also loved spending time at the sale barn where he worked for Tadlock Stockyards for over 43 years.

Glendell is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Guilba Webb, sons, Robert Webb (Shelia) and James Webb; daughter, Amy Blackwell (Cody); grandchildren, Cade Blackwell (Makenze) and Eli Blackwell (Regan); and a great grandchild, Miller Blackwell. Also left to cherish his memory is a brother Larry Webb (Charlotte) and a sister-in-law, Quena Roberts; as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Selva Mae Webb, daughter-in-law Rebecca Webb, and a brother-in-law, George Roberts.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, from 5:30PM-8:00 PM at High Hill Baptist Church, 4325 SCR 119, Raleigh, MS. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at High Hill Baptist Church with the burial service to follow in the church cemetery. Brother Glen Hayman, Bro. Jimmy Arender, Bro. Anthony Grayson, and Bro. Joe Garvin will officiate the service. Special music will be performed by Stephanie Wedgeworth, and Regan Blackwell.
Honored to serve as pall bearers will be Cody Blackwell, Cade Blackwell, Eli Blackwell, Doyle Webb, Billy Easterling and Jayden Blackwell.

Honorary pall bearers are Greg Easterling, Smith County Election Commission, Smith County Circuit Clerk, Brance Boykin, Doug Thornton, Chris Thornton, Tony Byrd and David Tadlock.
