Teacher Salary Comparison
Here’s an example of a salary scale from one school district in the United States.
In this salary schedule, teachers move up in steps based on years of experience and columns based on educational attainment.
If you have a Master’s Degree, you usually belong in the “M” column. Most school districts also credit up to 5 years of prior teaching experience when you are hired.
👉 That means you would typically start at M Step 5.
According to this scale:
• Annual Salary: $71,297
• In Philippine Peso: roughly ₱4,000,000 per year
• Monthly Gross: around ₱300,000+
Of course, living in the U.S. also comes with higher expenses such as:

🛒 Groceries
🚗 Car payments, gas, and insurance

But even after considering the cost of living, the salary difference compared to teachers in the Philippines is still very significant.
