🚨 Stop Falling for the “National Background Check” Myth 🚨

Business owners — we need to have an honest conversation.

Those cheap, instant “National Criminal Background Checks” being advertised everywhere?
They are NOT comprehensive.

A national database check alone does not search every county courthouse. It does not guarantee complete reporting. It does not replace a properly conducted county-level criminal search. And it certainly is not a global search.

Let that sink in.

If you’re only running a basic national database check and calling it “thorough,” you may be giving yourself a false sense of security.

Here’s the real question:

👉 Do you want something on paper that says you ran a background check?
OR
👉 Do you want qualified, properly vetted candidates protecting your staff, patients, and customers?

Because there is a difference.

Many crimes are reported at the county level first. If you’re not checking counties where the applicant has lived and worked, you could be missing critical information.

And here’s what should really concern you:

If an employee harms someone, and it’s discovered that you failed to properly screen them, you could face:
• Negligent hiring lawsuits
• Civil liability
• Insurance complications
• Reputational damage
• In some cases, criminal exposure
