Our Thanksgiving week plan has changed. We will be closed Thursday and Friday - nothing accepted! The Mill will be closed.
But the Monday - Wed before, we will accept loads with NO Poplar.
Only loads with no poplar will be accepted.

To Our Employees, Wood Suppliers, Customers, Contractors, Vendors and Community Partners:

We want to share an important update regarding our operations. PalletOne, Inc./UFP Industries, Inc., has decided to cease pallet manufacturing operations at our facilities here in Smarr.
PalletOne represents a significant portion of our business, and given current market conditions in the wood industry, it is not feasible to replace this volume with sales to outside customers.
After careful evaluation, we have made the difficult decision to idle our sawmill while we assess future opportunities. During this period, we will preserve our mill assets, closely monitor wood markets, and explore options for restarting operations over the next three to six months.
Our anticipated last day of operation before idling the mill is December 12. We will continue purchasing logs on a quota basis and will provide regular updates to our wood suppliers.
We recognize the impact this decision will have on all of you and are committed to working together to navigate this transition. Your dedication and hard work in helping make Southern Forest Industries a successful business for more than four decades is sincerely appreciated. We remain optimistic that we will resume operations soon.
