Just thought I would share this little tip regarding floors feeling sticky after being washed. I discovered that it is actually a build up from products that have been used. I did some research because a client of mine complained that her floors looked beautiful but her shoes kept "sticking". Anyway here is the remedy and it WORKS! Boiling water in your mop bucket with 1/2 a cup of white vinegar. The Vinegar breaks through the build up and leaves your floors totally sparkling and not sticky! The boiling water sterilizes too. Don't worry the vinegar smell will disappear once the floor is dry. This method is good for all hard flooring except for natural wood or any natural stone. Try it and you will be amazed at how good this method is! :) xx

Home Made Bleach.

Not everyone likes to keep bleach in their homes due to it being a harsh chemical and the strong fumes it emits. However there is an alternative that will clean just as well without the strong smell. It will kill mould & bacteria and can be used in the washing machine.

Hydrogen Peroxide.
Plenty of people shy away from this product because there is slight intimidation associated with the chemical name. In actuality this non-toxic disinfectant is far safer and just as effective as bleach in several residential applications. Hydrogen peroxide can be used in the kitchen, laundry room and even the bathroom as a hygienic aid.

To brighten laundry, add ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide with laundry detergent before a routine wash. Mix in a dark spray bottle with a bit of water and use it in the kitchen to clean cutting boards, sponges, and even vegetables of bacteria. In the bathroom you can use it for whiter nails and even as a mouthwash to kill bacteria when diluted with water (and rinsed thoroughly without swallowing.

Ingredients for home made bleach:

1 cup hydrogen peroxide
3 Tablespoons lemon juice
15 cups of water

Mix together and store in a large dark coloured bottle (This is important that the bottles be dark as the peroxide will "go off" in lighter bottles. Hence why it is sold in dark plastic). You then can pour into a smaller (dark) bottle for convenience. Since the peroxide will oxidize and eventually lose strength it’s best to use the homemade bleach within a month. Unlike regular bleach this won't affect trigger sprayers (blocking etc).
This bleach is great for cleaning bathrooms, toilets & drains etc.
