Just wrapped up filming and editing the Fort Dodge Senior High School’s 98th annual musical, Anastasia. It was such a fun project to work on!

For those of you who don't know the story, it follows a young woman trying to uncover her past while figuring out who she really is, all set after the Russian Revolution.

The students put on an incredible performance. Every scene had so much heart and so much talent. The lighting, choreography, and stage crew all did an outstanding job supporting and elevating the performances. I had a great time working on this project, and I’m really proud of how it turned out!

Huge thanks to both of the directors, the cast, the crew, and the pit orchestra for putting together such a phenomenal show and for letting me be a part of it!

This was a much simpler colorization, but it still required some upscaling, sharpening, and cleanup before I could begin adding color to the image. I always start with research, but in this case, I didn’t have much luck as most of the reference photos were also in black and white. It's times like these when you have to take some creative liberties and little by little adjust the colors until it not only looks right, but feels right.

This photo was shot in the early-mid 1940's, pictured is Albert Zemke sometime after he enlisted.

This was such a fun photo to restore! The woman in the picture is my great-grandmother, Darleen Zemke. I did get to meet her, but I was too young to remember. This is the clearest photo I’ve ever seen of her at this age—probably taken in the mid-to-late 1940s. The original had been cut to fit a frame, so I had to rebuild the edges and bring back some of the details lost to time. Seeing it come back to life was really special!
