HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF UPDATE: Catastrophic damage has been reported in Jamaica, and the storm is tracking toward Cuba and the southern Bahamas. In coordination with trusted partners, we are activating.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001 – a day that forever changed our nation and reminded us of both our vulnerability and our incredible strength.

We honor the 2,977 lives lost, including the 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and 55 military personnel who ran toward danger when others ran away. Their courage in those final moments exemplified the very best of the human spirit.

In the darkness of that day, we witnessed extraordinary heroism of first responders who gave everything to save others. Their legacy lives on in every firefighter who answers the call, every paramedic who races to help, every emergency manager who works tirelessly to keep communities safe, and every volunteer who steps up when disaster strikes.

At Optimum, we are honored to support the communities and brave individuals who carry forward this legacy of service. Every day, emergency responders across our nation embody the same courage, dedication, and selflessness we witnessed on 9/11.

We will never forget. We will always honor their sacrifice. And we will continue to stand with those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

Tropical Storm Erin has formed in the eastern Atlantic and is now the fifth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. It is forecast to strengthen into a major hurricane (Category 3) by the weekend—potentially becoming the season’s first hurricane.

Despite a lower probability of direct U.S. landfall, Erin’s rapid intensification path emphasizes the need for vigilance and proactive planning, especially for communities in coastal and island regions.

Our hearts are heavy for the communities across Central Texas following the catastrophic flooding on July 4th. The sudden rise of the Guadalupe River after days of relentless rain has tragically claimed the lives of at least 25 individuals, with many more still unaccounted for.

We are holding the families of the lost and the missing close in our thoughts, and we stand in solidarity with the first responders, volunteers, and neighbors who are working tirelessly in the face of unimaginable loss. Texas, you are not alone. 💔🌧
