At Kindall Evolve, we don’t believe in performative leadership or performative holidays. We believe in meaning, memory, and moments that matter. That’s why we’re continuing to honor Juneteenth, even as its future as a federally recognized holiday becomes less certain.

For those who don’t know, or could use a refresher, Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. That announcement finally freed the last enslaved people in the U.S., more than two years after Lincoln's decree. It’s a day that holds both pain and promise: a delayed freedom, but a turning point. Across generations, Black communities have transformed it into a powerful celebration of liberation, joy, resistance, and hope.

We celebrate Juneteenth not because it's on a calendar, but because it's woven into the fabric of our national story, and because the work of justice is ongoing. It offers us a vital opportunity to pause, reflect, and recommit to equity in our organizations and communities.

That’s why, even if it’s no longer a paid federal holiday, we're keeping Juneteenth on our calendar at Kindall Evolve. We hope other companies follow.

The International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade is more than a moment of reflection—it’s a call to acknowledge the lasting impact of slavery and take tangible steps toward justice.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆:
🔴 Racial Wealth Gap – Generations of systemic exclusion from wealth-building opportunities (land ownership, banking, and fair wages) have led to persistent economic disparities.

🔴 Mass Incarceration – The criminal justice system disproportionately targets and imprisons Black communities, a direct legacy of slavery-era laws.

🔴 Healthcare Inequities – Black communities continue to experience higher maternal mortality rates, lower access to healthcare, and medical bias rooted in historical dehumanization.

🔴 Educational Barriers – Underfunded schools, biased curricula, and racial disparities in discipline policies continue to limit opportunities.
