Standards of care aren't written in stone. They're written in context.

The standard for how a patient should be monitored in an ICU in a major teaching hospital might look different than the standard for a small rural facility. The standard for managing a pediatric airway is different than an adult airway. The standard for triaging an emergency at 3am with limited staff looks different than the same scenario at noon.

That's the reality I lived for sixteen years in critical care. That's what I understand deeply as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant. Standards matter, but context matters more.

If you need that kind of nuanced clinical analysis for your case, reach out.

Pediatric patients don't present the way adults do. A child's baseline is different. Their physiologic response is different. Recovery looks different. Even the way you interpret their clinical signs changes.

Years in pediatric critical care and pediatric critical care transport taught me that clinical context is everything.

Pediatric cases, can't be reviewed through an adult lens. I understand the physiology. I understand what's typical for a child and what's concerning. That distinction matters more than you might think.

If you're working a pediatric case and need someone who understands how children present clinically, reach out.

Twenty years at the bedside. Fifteen in critical care. Five in flight nursing where you think faster than you've ever thought before.

That background is the foundation of what I do now as a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.

I didn't plan to become a legal nurse consultant. I followed the clinical work to where it made sense. And it turns out that twenty years of asking the right clinical questions translates beautifully into analyzing medical records and helping attorneys build stronger cases around medical complexity.

If you have a case that needs clinical insight from someone who's lived the work, let's connect.

One of the first things you learn as a nurse is that medical records tell a story. Multiple voices. Multiple perspectives. Sometimes contradicting details.

Lawyers don't read medical records the way nurses do. That gap is where a Legal Nurse Consultant comes in.

My job isn't to practice law or to critique clinical care. My job is to translate what happened clinically so attorneys can build the strongest possible case. To organize complexity into clarity. To flag what matters and why.

If your case involves medical records and you need them organized and interpreted clearly, let's connect.

Critical care nursing is not glamorous. It is methodical, precise, and relentless.
You learn to look at everything. Vital trend at three in the morning. A note that does not match the previous shift. A lab value that nobody flagged but should have been.
That habit of looking for what does not add up is exactly what makes a strong legal nurse consultant. The clinical instincts never go away. They just find new records to review.

If you're reviewing a medical record and something feels off, I'd welcome the chance to take a look.

Attorneys are trained to argue the law. They are not trained to read a nursing note, interpret a medication administration record, or recognize when a clinical response falls outside accepted practice.
That gap is where cases get stronger or fall apart.
A Certified Legal Nurse Consultant bridges that gap. Not by practicing law, not by treating patients, but by making sure the medicine is never the weakest part of the strategy.

If your case involves medical records and you need them to strengthen your strategy, let's connect.

I did not start my career planning to become a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant.

I started it at the bedside in med-surge, then critical care, moved into flight nursing, and spent sixteen years in environments where the stakes were as high as they get. Over time I realized the clinical judgment I had built belonged somewhere it could keep doing meaningful work.

Legal nurse consulting is that place. Twenty years of experience does not retire. It redirects.

If you've got a case that needs clinical insight from someone who's been in high-stakes environments, reach out.

Nobody tells you when you start nursing that you will spend a career translating.

Translating medical language to patients and families. Translating what happened during a shift to the next provider. Translating a clinical picture that nobody else in the room can read as clearly as you can.

It turns out that skill has a home in the legal world too. And I found mine.

If you're building a case and the medical records need translating, that's exactly where I come in. Reach out

Legal Nurse Consultants don't practice medicine. We practice translation.

Our job is to take dense clinical documentation and make it accessible. To identify what matters in a record and what doesn't. To flag inconsistencies, gaps, and clinically relevant details that might otherwise be buried.

My background in critical care and flight nursing gave me years of practice reading the whole patient. The vital signs, the trajectory, the context. That same lens applies to case review. I evaluate whether the documented care aligns with clinical standards within its specific context, and I organize that analysis so attorneys can build strategy with confidence.

If your case involves complex medical records and you need clarity before depositions or trial prep, that's where I add the most value. Let's connect.
