What is your personal or organizational measuring stick?

You probably have goals / priorities / LOEs. How do you measure incremental, time-based, progress on those priorities?

There's no single right answer, but there are lots of suboptimal answers. Let's look at something as simple as physical fitness:

Objective: be a healthy, physically fit person.

Key Results you can use:
Weight or body fat percentage.
How fast you can your 2 mile in.
How much weight you can lift.
How you look in the mirror.

Pick the wrong metrics to focus on and you can miss the actual goal.

Now, consider complex priorities in large organizations. How do you gain agreement, establish work alignment, measure progress towards those metrics?

OKRs are not a new way of thinking. And they are not complicated. But small changes create big outcomes.

Check out these examples of some individual OKRs to better understand what OKRs are.
