🤍 Some moments feel so much bigger than the job. When Morgan messaged me & asked if I was available on a Tuesday, I said I don’t know if I can… then she told me who the proposal was for. I knew I had to make it work - even on a weekday! I work in a school so I don’t really take photo gigs during the week, much less in Naples… but for her? Of course I was going to be there. 🥹
I met Sam years ago when she asked me to photograph Ava’s 1st birthday & instantly fell in love with her family’s energy. I even stayed late, way past the booked time because baby Ava fell asleep in her stroller. My daughter isn’t too much older than her so I understood completely! *Never* wake a sleeping baby. Even at their super fabulous first birthday party! 💖🦓🎀🎂🐘
The way Sam & Morgan adored each other as sisters, the matching shirts their guys wore, the way everyone felt like one big heartbeat - it was truly something special.
I’ve photographed her through so many chapters since… & watching her step into this new one felt especially meaningful. I remember the first time I met Travis. He let me in the door & I went upstairs to help Sam finish getting the girls ready. Sam immediately started gushing to me about how she wasn’t sure how this could be true, how she found someone as amazing as him. How she was shocked that she was able to meet someone that opened her heart like he had. As a divorced mom, I was so proud of her for even going out! We talked about the difficulties of seeing someone & how being a mom makes it even more complex - as if dating isn’t hard enough already!
Travis impressed me immediately. He’s just good at being a dad. It comes so natural to him. The way he loves these girls melts my heart. I saw she had found a really good one. 🤍 That Saturday morning, after our chaotic in-home family session, they asked if I wanted a glass of champagne… & it just confirmed they are my kind of people 🤣🥂
Sam has walked through loss with so much grace, strength, & love. Seeing her find a second beautiful love, while raising her two precious babies, is something I feel honored to witness.
