As we end this month of Black Excellence 2024, sharing some history on the past, present and future of digital literacy and inclusion in Philadelphia, and the role Wilco Smart Access, has played in its progression. As a company, for decades we have been working with and along side many partners and initiatives to bring affordable technology access to underserved communities in the Greater Philadelphia region.
Thankful to have had Philadelphia’s own, Technical.ly, provide coverage on many of those ventures and our impact; And honored to write and share a guest post to commemorate their 15th Anniversary and the 20th anniversary of Wireless Philadelphia...aka.....the start of the digital equity movement in Philadelphia.
As the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program comes to an end, potentially leaving 20 million people without federal subsidies for broadband access, we face another pivotal moment. Blessed that WILCO is proudly committed and able to be at the table to continue lending and leading towards a more equitable digital future for all.
