Get to know Shanda more below:

-What do you enjoy most about working with customers?
"I love getting to know my customers on a personal level. We can talk about business and our families in one email. I have customers from when I started, that still check in on me and my kids. We have built life-long friendships that I will always value."

-How has your role changed or grown over the years?
"I started out in the Customer Service department and continued to grow there for about 8 years, before I was given the opportunity to advance as the Customer Service Manager."

- What’s your favorite part of your job?
"I love that it is fast paced and even though the job is the same, it is different day-to day."

-What do you think sets Kelly Box apart when it comes to customer service?
"My team and I may start the process in the customer service department, but behind the scenes is where all the miracles happen. Most people say 'think outside of the box' but I prefer to think 'inside the box.' For example , when our customers need something expedited, I know that I can rely on the 'inside' of Kelly Box; on our production, shipping, and other departments to make things happen and take care of our customers. It’s always a team effort from start to finish."

What is corrugated strength—and why does it matter?

It’s easy to assume a stronger box just means thicker material—but corrugated strength is a bit more nuanced than that.

It’s influenced by things like:
• Flute type (A, B, C, E, etc.)
• Board structure (single wall vs. double wall)
• How the box is stacked, stored, and shipped

These details affect how a box performs under pressure—literally. From stacking in a warehouse to vibration during transit, the right combination makes a difference.

When the specification doesn’t match the application, it can lead to product damage or unnecessary material use.

When it does match, things tend to run more smoothly—from packing to delivery.

It’s one of those small decisions that can have a bigger operational impact than most people expect.

Most companies are overpaying for packaging—and don’t realize it.

If your packaging slows down packing time or wastes space, it’s costing you in labor and logistics—not just materials.
