McIntosh Energy is an Independent Franchisee of Pacific Pride operating four MacFood Mart c-stores. The Royville location still exists today.

Russell McIntosh founded McIntosh Energy in 1953 after serving in the Korean War. He came back to Fort Wayne and with $500 of borrowed money bought a truck and tank for delivery of home heating oil to the rapidly expanding neighborhoods. The “Be Sure With Pure” gave customers comfort in knowing they were dealing with a seller of quality products. McIntosh Energy acquired a small remote location in

northern Allen county in the early sixties as it’s first company owned location for the sale of fuel and groceries. It was torn down and rebuilt in 1998 with all the features of a modern convenience store. Over the years other locations were added. Today the company owns and operates four strategically placed convenience stores in and around Fort Wayne. In 1991, the company began servicing commercial fleet accounts with the first unattended card lock system in the area. The success of this program allowed the fleets to be able to buy fuel at more locations in Fort Wayne. McIntosh Energy became a franchisee of Pacific Pride in 1994 allowing the fleets to buy fuel across the U.S. and still get the convenience and the control they desired. The company now operates three unattended commercial fueling sites. True to our roots we still deliver product to locations that have on site fuel tanks for their on or off road vehicles including independent dealers. The only thing we don’t still have is the truck that Russell McIntosh first used in 1953.

Those of you familiar with our Macfood Mart Brookwood location near the Fort Wayne Airport, may already know we have a third fuel canopy on-site that offers compressed natural gas, or CNG fuel.

Love's Travel Stops recently acquired 44 CNG locations, including the CNG fueling station located at our Brookwood site. With that change, you can now see the Love's logo on the CNG fuel canopy!
