The numbers are in, and we like what we see!
We are thrilled to say our drag reduction kits are delivering between 1.5 and 2.0 percent fuel burn reduction for the 737-800.

ADL has captured and analyzed several hundred flights-worth of data at various speeds, altitudes and weights giving us a valuable before and after comparison. The numbers align nicely with our calculations made using computational fluid dynamics during our design process. Read on in our news release below.

Excited to see WestJet flying with our drag reduction kit in place!

On Monday, March 20, 2023 a WestJet 737-700 flew from Calgary to Toronto with our proprietary drag reduction kit installed, making WestJet the first airline in Canada to operate a revenue flight with our kits installed.

A special thank you to WestJet as they were a key partner in the certification and approval of these kits - we couldn't have done it without you and we're most grateful.

As this aircraft flies and gathers data, we look forward to validating how our drag reduction kits reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

An exciting and momentous occasion for us at Aero Design Labs! On Friday, March 3, a Southwest Airlines aircraft flew from Dallas Love Field to El Paso, Texas equipped with Aero Design Lab’s Drag Kit installed.

Southwest is the first airline in the world to operate a scheduled flight with our drag reduction kit in place, and we are delighted to see the results of our endeavor take to the skies. Our team at ADL has been working since 2015 for this moment, and we couldn’t be happier to share our first flight with Southwest.

These drag reduction kits do just that - reduce drag. Southwest will operate with DRS kits installed on five aircraft as they evaluate potential reductions in fuel burn rate and lowered carbon emissions intensity.

Once the data is validated, we look forward to many more airlines benefitting from Aero Design Lab’s innovative and proprietary drag reduction system.
