Recuerda:

Mismo TDAH.

Más comprensión. Menos juicio. Más apoyo.

Inattentive ADHD doesn’t always look like “not paying attention.”

Sometimes it looks like:

✨ Knowing exactly what you need to do—but struggling to start.
⏰ Losing track of time without realizing it.
📱 Forgetting to respond to a message you genuinely meant to answer.
📝 Making lists, reminders, and alarms…and still forgetting things.
💭 Drifting into your thoughts during conversations.
📚 Starting several tasks but struggling to finish them.
🪫 Feeling mentally exhausted from trying to keep up all day.

Inattentive ADHD can be especially easy to overlook because the struggle may be happening internally.

An adult can appear quiet, successful, responsible, or organized while putting enormous amounts of energy into managing attention, organization, working memory, and everyday responsibilities.

What others interpret as laziness, carelessness, procrastination, lack of motivation, or “not trying hard enough” may be someone struggling with executive functioning and attention regulation.

Remember:

ADHD is not a measure of intelligence.
Forgetting doesn’t automatically mean someone doesn’t care.
Difficulty starting doesn’t mean someone isn’t trying.
Appearing distracted doesn’t mean someone isn’t interested.

And appearing to “have it all together” doesn’t tell you how much effort it takes behind the scenes.

Different presentation. Same ADHD.

More understanding. Less judgment. More support.

💬 Does inattentive ADHD show up like this for you?

ADHD doesn’t look the same for everyone. It can show up as Predominantly Inattentive, Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive, or Combined Presentation.

Inattentive: Difficulty with focus, organization, remembering tasks, and completing things—even when you genuinely want to.

Hyperactive-Impulsive: Restlessness, frequent movement, talking, interrupting, difficulty waiting, and acting before thinking.

Combined: A combination of inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive traits that can affect attention, organization, emotional regulation, and daily life.

ADHD isn’t laziness, a lack of intelligence, or simply “bad behavior.” Understanding how ADHD can present differently helps us replace judgment with curiosity, compassion, and support.

Cortar contacto ≠ cortar el vínculo emocional. La reactividad suele aparecer en otras relaciones.

🍉 The watermelon looks small on the outside… but inside, it’s heavy, complex, and hard to cut into. That’s executive dysfunction. Not laziness. Not a character flaw. A nervous system doing its best under real neurological load. 💛

No estás solo/a. 💚
