The mission of The Cause Agency is to promote the work of nonprofit organizations through advertising, marketing and public relations. As a nonprofit organization ourselves, The Cause Agency offers skills-based marketing services to other nonprofits seeking public support, financial contributions and volunteerism. Without a proper budget in place, a marketing plan or the on-staff personnel necessa

ry to effectively market their cause, these nonprofits cannot grow or thrive. Through The Cause Agency we are giving these worthy organizations access to professional expertise while being mindful of financial stewardship, thereby allowing these organizations to stay focused on their mission and continue their advocacy in our communities.

You threw a great event and your donors had fun ... but did they actually connect with your mission?

Here's what we've learned from years of working with nonprofits like yours: Fun gets people in the room, but mission? Mission is what moves them to give.

Our latest blog breaks down how to weave your nonprofit's purpose into every part of your event — before, during and after — so your guests walk away more invested in your mission than ever before.

May is National Small Business Month, and we're celebrating the small businesses in our neighborhood that we love to visit year-round.

☕ Avoca Coffee Roasters for a delicious seasonal coffee when we're on the go or coffee grounds for at-home brewing

🍔 The Bearded Lady for a team lunch every Wednesday - we love their smash burgers, and we can walk there from our office!

🚲 Union Cycle and Strength for the perfect combo of cardio and community-building

Supporting small businesses isn’t just good for the local economy — it’s what makes a community feel like home.

Eighty years of showing up for cancer patients in Fort Worth and Tarrant County deserves a celebration, and we were honored to help make it happen.

We created the 80th anniversary logo for Cancer Care Services - an organization that's been walking alongside people through some of their hardest days since the 1940s. We also designed materials for their spring event, Hope Blooms Here.

Cancer Care Services, here's to 80 years of making sure no one walks the road of cancer alone. We're grateful to help tell your story.

Have you identified your donor personas yet?

And if you have, are you treating them all the same? (Spoiler: You shouldn't be.)

A donor journey is your roadmap for taking someone from brand-new to your nonprofit, all the way to a fully bought-in donor and volunteer. It maps out touchpoints, communications and experiences based on where someone is in their relationship with your organization.

When you create intentional pathways for different personas, you're able to:

- Send the right message at the right time
- Build trust and deepen engagement naturally
- Move people from curious to committed without overwhelming them
- Steward relationships in a way that actually feels personal

If you haven't mapped out your donor journeys yet — or if you're not sure where to start — we can help. This is one of our favorite types of projects to work on with clients because it transforms how you connect with your community.

Let's build pathways that actually work for you and your supporters.

April is National Poetry Month, so here's a little ode to the work we love:

Working With Nonprofits: A Poem

The budget is tight,
The mission is bright,
The gala's next week—
Wait, we need a new site?

The grant's due tomorrow,
The story's not done,
But somehow you'll finish it,
(And maybe have fun.)

The donors are generous,
The board's asking "why?"
The impact is real,
Even when you want to cry.

It's chaos, it's beautiful,
It's never quite neat—
But changing the world?
Now that's pretty sweet.

Meet Sidney!

This month we're highlighting the incredible Sidney!

Sidney started as a Communications Intern in September 2024 and now works full-time, splitting her time between The Cause Agency and our sister agency, J.O. She handles social media reporting, website design and strategy — with a focus on helping nonprofits tell their stories well.

Sidney has a brain for the details and always manages to bring her unique pizazz to everything she touches. She's fluent in French, ASL and Portuguese, and graduated from UVA's McIntire School of Commerce with a concentration in Management and IT (plus a minor in Global Sustainability).

When she's not working, you'll find her dancing salsa, bachata, and cha cha.

Sidney, we're so glad to have you on the team!

We love a good rebrand - and we're thrilled to share the new logo we created for Rivertree Academy.

This incredible school serves kids in Pre-K through 6th grade, and they deserved a visual identity that reflects the care, excellence, and joy happening in their classrooms every day.

We went through lots of iterations to get it just right - and we think it was worth it.

Rivertree, we're honored to help tell your story well.

April 20 is Volunteer Recognition Day - and if your nonprofit runs on volunteer power, this is your moment to say thank you.

Here's the reality: volunteers save nonprofits an average of $28.54 per hour (according to Independent Sector). They show up, give their time, and often become your most passionate advocates.

So how do you thank them well?

Write handwritten notes (yes, really!)
Celebrate them publicly on social media
Host a volunteer appreciation event (coffee and donuts count!)
Give them behind-the-scenes access or a sneak peek at upcoming projects
Just say it out loud: "We couldn't do this without you."

Your volunteers are valuable. Make sure they know it.
