Love this post from a fellow Birth Boot Camp Instructor! The Lord has created us for incredible things and He is with us through it all!! ♥️🙏🏻

Earlier this week, I was teaching the sweetest couple a birth class on the topic of labor. We were talking about natural ways to handle pain and were doing an activity to help dad best understand how to support mom during contractions. When it was dad’s turn to do the pain simulation, he breathed out a low groan to help him deal with the pain, something that is written in my curriculum to teach mamas to do. When I commented on how amazing it was that his instinct was to use those low tones to relax and power through, he said something that caught me totally off guard. He quoted Romans 8:26, which says, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” He said that he and his wife spend time in prayer together, and he equated the pains of life (and literally, in this case, labor) with that verse.

How beautiful it was in that moment to realize that a strategy I teach, which is proven to help ease the pain of a natural childbirth, is written in God’s Word. The Spirit intercedes for us; our weakness is filled with His strength. Bringing precious life that He created, into the world. I was in awe in that moment that He is just so big and has made all things to work so perfectly!
