TechFW We put the tech in Texas. Fort Worth's first technology incubator + accelerator. Established in 1998 WHAT DO WE DO?

TechFW was founded in 1998 and is a public-private non-profit (501c3) partnership with the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth, the City of Fort Worth, and the North Texas business community. TechFW provides programs and services to emerging technology firms to help them develop their technology and deliver it to the world. These technologies impact the environment, empow

er the community and improve healthcare. The creation of new companies is at the heart of economic growth. The technology incubator is a valuable mechanism to link talent, technology, capital, and know-how to leverage entrepreneurial talent, accelerate the development of new technologies, and strengthen the local economy. TechFW is about MENTORING, CONNECTING and COACHING. Through our programs, we mentor entrepreneurs to build their business. Through focused interactions, we connect entrepreneurs with resources and through ongoing evaluations we coach them toward financial stability. Our time and expertise is invested in emerging small businesses and entrepreneurs that demonstrate the potential for economic and commercial success. Our main goal is to produce successful firms that leave our programs financially viable and freestanding.

Your idea deserves more than vibes and a plan titled “we’ll figure it out later”.

ThinkLab, TechFW’s early-stage startup accelerator, is now accepting applications for the fall cohort.

Over eight weeks, founders pressure-test their ideas, talk to real customers, build a stronger business plan, and get honest feedback before spending serious time or money in the wrong direction.

Limited scholarships are available.

Our Summer Tech Together brought founders, neighbors, small businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders together to celebrate the people building remarkable things right here in the Near Southside.

That’s the heart of our quarterly Tech Together events: shine a light on the folks doing the work, create real connections, and make sure no one has to build alone. Check out the full event photo album here: https://lnkd.in/gf59TyEs

A big tip of the hat to our sponsor, Justworks, for helping make the evening possible. Their team helps small businesses handle payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR so founders can keep their eyes on the trail ahead.

And thank you to our community partner and host, The Welman Project, for welcoming us into its new South Main space. Their work reduces waste, supports teachers, and gives creativity a place to run wild. Make a point to visit them or catch one of their events this summer.

We also want to celebrate the founders who stepped up and told their stories:

Weekend Will | Brooke Hipps
Market Match | Demetrie King
The Real Time App | Reannah Wyatt

Three companies. Three different paths. One room full of people ready to see them go farther.

To everyone who joined us: thank you for riding with us. We’ll see ya again this fall. Until then, keep an eye out for next week’s RoundUp newsletter and keep on pioneering.

Something special is happening at TechFW this summer.

We welcomed the first-ever cohort of Idea Outlaws™ to our inaugural Youth Entrepreneur Summer Camp and from day one, they brought curiosity, courage, big questions, and even bigger ideas.

But no founder builds alone.

Throughout the week, community partners, coaches, TechFW members, and alumni stepped into the room to show these young entrepreneurs what is possible when a community believes in them early.

That may be the part we’re most proud of.

To every mentor, partner, volunteer, member, alum, sponsor, and supporter who showed up for this first cohort: thank you! These students doing more than just learning about business. They practiced solving problems, telling their stories, pitching their ideas, and seeing themselves as people who can build what comes next.

And all around them our village saying:

Keep going. Ask the question. Try the idea.

The frontier needs fresh thinkers. We're excited to introduce the first Idea Outlaws™.

Before Eosera® was in 28,000 stores, it was an idea that needed a lab, manufacturing guidance, coaching, and capital strategy.

It was a startup that needed TechFW.

In her Fort Worth Star-Telegram op-ed, Elyse Dickerson shares how she went from receiving termination papers in 2015 to betting on herself and building one of Fort Worth’s leading CPG companies.

When Elyse came to TechFW in 2015, eosera was still early. She didn’t need hype. She needed a lab.
TechFW helped connect her to UNT Health Fort Worth.
She needed manufacturing guidance.
TechFW connected her to TMAC.
She needed coaching, capital strategy, and investors who understand the importance to early stage capital during R+D.
TechFW connected her to Cowtown Angels.

That’s why we exist.

Our accelerator and incubator programs are built for founders at the messy, high-stakes beginning. When the idea is real, but the path is still being forged. Because Fort Worth doesn’t just need more startups. We need more founders and a community willing to back them before everyone else does.

TechFW is a vital piece of Fort Worth’s business development. A new study shows the value of its work. | Opinion

Some rooms just feel different. Walking into Red Productions for our Tech Together event had that uniquely startup energy.

Founders pitching what they’re building.
Investors asking the right questions.
New connections forming in real time.

It’s a reminder that Fort Worth is building something worth being part of. Big thank you to Texas A&M-Fort Worth for sponsoring the evening and TechFW graduate Red Productions for hosting us so well. And the biggest round of applause goes to our founders who pitched live for us: Bectas Therapeutics Inc. - Nspire Medical Technologies - Tremedics - Portal Aircraft Company.

If you missed it, don’t worry, this was just the beginning. Save the date for our next Tech Together on June 25th.

Barrie is so pleased to be returning to Fort Worth on March 27th to present at the TechFW Speaker Series on Creative and Disruptive Entrepreneurship.

He'll also be touching on his philanthropic journey, which has given VIP sporting and entertainment experiences to over 26,000 seriously ill children and their families through Box4Kids!

Whilst he's looking forward to sharing personal case studies, he is also very much looking forward to learning from the many entrepreneurs and innovators who are shaping the future, as well as catching up with some great long-standing Texan friends.

Fun Fact! Barrie's maternal grandfather was the world pole vault record holder and the last UK athlete to win the US pole vault championship!

See you soon Texas- only two weeks to go!

What does it take to build something truly disruptive?

On March 27, we’re hosting Barrie Wells MBE as part of the TechFW Speaker Series for a conversation on Creative & Disruptive Entrepreneurship.

Barrie has spent decades challenging convention: from reshaping global insurance markets to pioneering philanthropic initiatives that improve lives. In this session, he’ll share lessons from building businesses that didn’t just compete, they changed the rules entirely by bringing disruptive creativity to their industries.

Yesterday our team had the chance to help inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs at the JA Inspire Career Expo. More than 1,000 high school students from across Fort Worth ISD came through the event to explore different industries and career paths. TechFW led the Entrepreneurship Zone alongside .app where we invited juniors and seniors to start thinking like founders.

Our activation was simple: imagine your future business and design its logo and brand. Armed with markers, stickers, and plenty of creativity, students brought their ideas to life as we turned their designs into custom buttons they could take home.

We were blown away (though not surprised) by how many students are already thinking about starting their own businesses. If even a few of those buttons end up sitting on a backpack or desk somewhere and remind a student to keep building toward their idea, we’d call that a win.

Huge thanks to for bringing together educators, companies, and students to create experiences like this. We’re proud to partner with organizations helping shape the future workforce and the next generation of entrepreneurs.

If your idea has been sitting quietly — waiting for “later” — this is your nudge.

Don’t let another season pass without finding out whether this idea can become something real. ThinkLab runs for 8 weeks by design.

Enough time to:
• Validate your idea
• Pressure-test assumptions
• Get honest feedback
• Decide what’s next

Not long enough to overthink it.

ThinkLab Spring 2026 applications close March 2 before the program launches on March 4.
