Your electric bill isn’t something that just disappears one day.

Most homeowners are going to pay for electricity for the rest of their lives. The real question is *who* they’re paying and how much it’ll cost 5, 10, or 20 years from now.

Solar gives homeowners another option:
☀️ Lock in more predictable energy costs
☀️ Potentially lower monthly payments
☀️ Protection against rising utility rates
☀️ Backup power options with batteries
☀️ Ownership instead of just renting energy forever

And with today’s lease, finance, and hybrid ownership options, going solar often doesn’t require changing your monthly budget much at all.

If you’re curious what solar could look like for your home, feel free to reach out for a free consultation.

What Happens If Your Solar Company Goes Out of Business?

One of the biggest fears homeowners have before going solar is: “What happens if the solar company disappears?” It’s a fair concern. Over the past several years, the solar industry has seen: rapid growth changing incentives financing shifts companies merging or shutting down That can make homeowners nervous about warranties, monitoring, maintenance, and long-term support. The good news is: In almost every case, your solar system does not stop working just because the company that sold it is gone....

Worried about your solar company's stability? Learn how solar systems keep working and what warranties protect you long-term.

A lot of people compare solar + battery systems to generators because both can keep the lights on during an outage… but they’re actually solving the problem in completely different ways.

A generator is mostly an emergency expense.
It sits there depreciating until you need it, burns fuel when it runs, creates noise, requires maintenance, and doesn’t lower your electric bill at all.

A solar + battery system can do backup power while also replacing part or all of your monthly electric bill with a fixed energy payment — often with $0 down for qualifying homeowners.

That means instead of adding another bill to your budget, many homeowners are simply swapping a rising utility bill for a more predictable energy cost while gaining backup protection at the same time.

And unlike a generator:
☀️ It recharges itself from the sun
🔋 It can run silently every day
📈 It may increase home value
⚡ It can participate in Virtual Power Plant (VPP) programs where the utility pays you for helping stabilize the grid with your battery storage
⛽ No gas cans, fuel shortages, or engine maintenance

Generators still absolutely have their place for certain situations. But more homeowners are starting to realize that energy systems can now be both protection and an investment instead of just a backup expense.

If you’ve been curious whether a battery system or generator makes more sense for your home, feel free to reach out. Every house, utility company, and usage pattern is different.

One thing I’ve never liked about parts of the solar industry is the door-to-door approach where reps try to avoid saying they’re selling solar.

“We’re not selling anything.”
“We’re just here about your electric bill.”
“We’re working with the utility company.”

Meanwhile… the entire conversation is leading to a solar pitch.

I honestly think homeowners appreciate transparency more than scripted tactics. Every other industry is usually upfront about what they do. Roofing companies say they sell roofs. Pest control companies say they sell pest control. Solar shouldn’t have to hide behind vague wording to start a conversation.

Solar can absolutely be a great investment for the right home, but the industry gets a bad reputation when people feel tricked before the conversation even starts.

I’d rather just be direct:
Yes, I work in solar.
Yes, I’m here to see if it could financially make sense for your home.
And if it doesn’t, I’ll tell you that too.

Transparency builds a lot more trust than pretending it’s “not a sales call.”

Battery add-on here in Fort Worth to a client with a existing solar system.

Adding a battery not only gives off grid capability but also reduces your bill even more by self consuming your power and bypassing low buyback rates, helping it pay for itself.

If you’re in the DFW area and have solar already but no battery, message me to get you set up!

Fun Star Wars fact: Did you know that the tie fighter is actually canonically equipped with solar panel wings?

A 6 panel array on each side. This is especially perfect for long distance space flight since essentially you could get un-ending sunlight without the limitations of a planet’s rotation.

Solar energy production is not only the most sustainable way of the future, but also the way of an empire a long time ago in a galaxy far far away….

Not every house is the same when it comes to solar — and that’s why real solar consulting matters.

In this reel, I break down some of the biggest things we look at before recommending a system:

☀️ Shade: Trees, chimneys, and nearby buildings can impact production.
🏠 Roof Orientation: South-facing is great, but east/west can work really well too depending on goals.
📐 Roof Shape & Space: The layout of the roof affects how many panels fit and where they should go.
🌎 Location: A home in Texas performs differently than one in Washington because of sunlight and weather patterns.
⚡ Utility Policies: Net metering, buyback plans, and local rules can make a huge difference.
💵 Electric Rates: Higher utility rates often mean bigger potential savings.

The truth is solar isn’t one-size-fits-all. A good design should be built around your home, your utility, and your goals.

My question is, if you are saving anything at all, isn’t that better than the alternative which is to save nothing?

And this is for those who finance or lease solar for $0 upfront so there is no initial cost or investment, just monthly savings.

Sometimes people are expecting massive savings year one. Just to be clear, if it nets you ANY savings at all in the first year, that is a win. Because solar is a fixed rate meaning the savings will increase every year after that.

If someone offered you an internet plan with the same speed and said it was $10 a month less, would you switch or just stay with your plan because $10 is just not that much?

Idk about you but I try and save money wherever I can if there’s not really a downside to it.
