You guys I met with a new client yesterday who shared with me the awful experience she had with her previous attorney. They lost her payment, called her horrible names, and had the audacity to tell her she "made more than 51% of the median income in Eureka, why can't you pay me more money?" This was after they bragged to her how they already spent the tens of thousands of dollars she already paid them.
I was not only shocked at how another human being could treat another like this, but even more apologetic to her because this was supposed to be someone with moral superiority.
This experience only reminded me why I love my job so much. I definitely don't do it to get paid, but instead for the joy it brings me to get to make a difference in people's lives. I get to fight for those who are in a weakened state and help them rise to their feet again. I love my job because I genuinely care for others and enjoy empowering them when they lost their own power.
Carrying the weight of others trials and trIbulations isn't always easy, but I couldn't even image becoming so jaded and careless to not do my job for the right reasons.
All my wonderful clients are the reason I love my job so much. Shout out to all past and future clients. You all are worth it!
