Now that the trucks have been taken back into their hard-working status again and are no longer all lit up for the parade, I would like to take a moment to honor the winners of the parade contest categories! Just because the parade is over, does not mean we should not keep giving high fives and congratulations to these local businesses and organizations that stepped up and made the Al Gray Lighted Parade a huge success!

The 2023 Al Gray Lighted Parade Winners:

Best Junior Entry: Carlotta 4-H

Best Non-profit Entry: Fortuna 4-H

Best Community Entry: Rohner Community Rec and Park District

Best Government Entry: City of Fortuna

The Al Gray Lighted Parade would not be possible without the participants and the support of local businesses! Thank you to Lost Coast Laser for the trophies for the contest winners, to Ray's Food Place, Fortuna Grocery Outlet, AP Property Management, Bob's Footlongs and Paul's Live from New York for the gift cards to go with the trophies and Clendenen's Cider Works for the cider for participants. Il Forno will be providing savory treats for the community and Famous Amens and the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce is donating sweet treats for the event! 1122 Main Street is the place to be to enjoy these goodies and take a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus! The BID will see you there!

Tomorrow the free movie event is happening at Rohner Park in the skating rink. Make sure you have your tickets before registration begins tomorrow at 1:30pm. TONIGHT is the BIG NIGHT. Al Gray Lighted Parade begins at 6pm on Main Street and goes down Fortuna Blvd. up to Hot Brew and back to Main Street. AWARDS CEREMONY is at 5:30pm at 1122 Main Street, so come support the participants in winning a prize! The BID will see you there tonight.

NEW ROUTE: The parade will be on Main Street and Fortuna Blvd this year and it will NOT go through neighborhoods this year. Get a spot on the Blvd or get into a Downtown business to enjoy the lighted parade! There will also be an indoor location at 1122 Main Street to enjoy snacks and the awards ceremony at 5:30pm. Come support the entries by enjoying the awards ceremony in the warmth and then take pictures with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus! Entries are still welcome, so call 707-725-9261 to sign up.
