Take more than just a day to honor those that gave all for the freedoms this nation provides; live a life that honors their sacrifice.

We honor all those that have fallen defending our freedoms; military, law enforcement, etc.

Memorial Day 2021.This day we honor the real heroes of this nation. The ones who have given their lives so that we don't have to.

Where were you on this day?

I carry this tragedy with me everyday. It was a catalyst for the last 20 years of service to our Nation and society, trying to ensure there was not another 9/11.

The blood, sweat, tears, and loss of friends/family that were paid for taking a stand against evil, while tragic, it was a sacrifice that so few understand why it is paid freely.

On this day, our society woke up and had to face the fact that evil exists in the world and it can’t be mitigated through diplomacy.

Our country and world were united to stop this evil.

It seems majority of society has forgotten that evil still exists and has been growing; now it is even better equipped and more experienced due to the Afghanistan catastrophe.

Society has lost its cohesion to support and fight against evil. We are more divided and still a target. Our resolve to fight and support those who take a stand against it has been eroded. Our police are vilified, our military overstretched, first and 2nd responders overworked, and funding across the board has been diverted. Are we doomed to repeat the past?

The world changed on this day and so many lives were forever impacted.

Today is a day of remembrance and hope. We need to stand united now more then ever. We need to be prepared for what comes next for it’s a matter of when not if.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted on this day.
