As many of you know, my husband and I are building our business, Denny’s Fire Ant & Mosquito Control LLC, from the ground up. I’m still working a full-time job while we pray and work toward the day I can join our business full time.

Lately, though, I’ve been asking myself, what if God has another opportunity for me to serve others along the way? After more than 25 years of building skills in organization, administration, and helping people manage the day-to-day details of life, I’d love to use those gifts to help families and busy professionals.

I’m now offering personal assistant services, including:

Fire ants are already active again in the Upstate and they only get worse with heat and rain.

We’ve been in a serious drought - and when that rain hits this weekend into next week, everything is about to wake up FAST.

🐜 Fire ants will pop up overnight

They’ve been deep in the soil during the dry conditions. Rain brings them up - and you’ll start seeing fresh mounds everywhere.

🦟 Mosquitoes are right behind them

Standing water becomes a breeding ground fast. About 5 - 7 days after the rain, expect a surge.

Leave fawns where they are!

This is your spring reminder that KIDNAPPING WILDLIFE IS ILLEGAL.

While that tiny fawn may look scared and alone, it's actually just waiting on mom to return. During their first few weeks of life, fawns are left bedded down while the mother spends her days a short distance away feeding and resting.

FINDING A FAWN BY ITSELF DOES NOT MEAN IT IS ORPHANED OR ABANDONED.

The mother doe only visits the fawn for a few brief periods each day to nurse and groom. This is done to protect the fawn from predators.

We know it is tempting to "take in" a lone fawn, however the long-term survival rates of deer taken into captivity are very low. Improperly rehabilitated fawns become accustomed to humans and often become dangerous or nuisance animals which can ultimately lead to their death.

If you see a fawn bedded down over the next few months, leave it where its mother left it.

Do your part to keep South Carolina's wildlife wild.
