🎓 Congratulations to the 2026 2nd Cohort Graduates of the Community Mental Health Worker Apprenticeship Program! 💙
Moving Forward Psychological Institute, Inc. (MFPI) is proud to serve as the sponsor and training provider of the nation’s only U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) and California Department of Apprenticeship Standards (CA DAS) registered Community Mental Health Worker Apprenticeship Program (CMHWAP), developed by Paul Hoang.
First registered with the U.S. Department of Labor in 2023 and with the California Department of Apprenticeship Standards in 2025, this program was created to meet the urgent need for skilled, culturally responsive community mental health providers—both locally and nationwide.
With over 25 years of experience behind its foundation, the program equips apprentices with the knowledge and hands-on skills to make a meaningful, real-world impact.
To our graduates: your journey is just beginning, and our communities are stronger because of you. We celebrate your dedication, growth, and commitment to service. Your work represents hope, compassion, and real change where it’s needed most. 🌱

MFPI hosted the International Vietnamese Mental Health Association OC Chapter’s monthly social mixer.

Genuine moments of connections, and learning and sharing about the successes and challenges of comprehensive mental/ physical health care in private practice, nonprofit, government, and community based organizations settings.

Was a great opportunity to increase our network for referral and collaboration with a private primary care physician, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and another licensed mental health therapist.

Questions from an IVMHA member considering to pursue graduate studies into a mental health program sparked very meaningful and relevant discussion about the similarities and differences among different healthcare provider’s processes for conducting mental health assessments and differential diagnosis.

Better late than never, because who wouldn’t love unwrapping boba? 🧋🐘🎁
Our team celebrated the 2025 holiday with a fun boba white elephant and these were the results 🤍

We’re deeply grateful for our clients, partners, staff, interns, and volunteers who journeyed with us through 2025 and for every challenge, breakthrough, and lesson along the way.

As we move into 2026, we remain committed to creating a healthier community for all and continuing to raise awareness around mental health and su***de prevention.

If you’re struggling this new year, please know you’re not alone. Reach out to loved ones or a licensed therapist for support, or call/text 988 for help. 💙

Last Friday and Saturday, as a co-sponsor and volunteer conference organizer, our director Paul hosted and attended the 2nd Annual International Vietnamese Mental Health Association (IVMHA) Conference, marking a milestone in our shared mission to uplift and connect the Vietnamese mental health community.
Thank you everyone for making the 2nd conference, “Roots & Resilience: Honoring Tradition, Embracing Change,” a memorable one!

This conference couldn’t have happened without all the amazing volunteers, attendees, speakers, and community partners, some who came from near and far to join the largest gathering of Vietnamese mental health professionals, academics, researchers, and students in the U.S.

We appreciate the support from all our donors and sponsors—especially CalOptima Health for being the conference’s Platinum level sponsor for this event.
Together we demonstrated what’s it’s like to leverage our Roots & Resilience - Honor Our Tradition & Embracing Change.

Let’s continue applying what we’ve learned, nurturing the connections we’ve made, and moving forward with hope.
