As a mental health professional, I pour so much of my time and heart into supporting others helping them navigate pain, rebuild trust, and find meaning in their own stories. And there are days when the emotional weight of this work lingers long after the sessions end. That’s where photography becomes my reset button.
When I pick up my camera, the focus shifts literally and figuratively. Instead of analyzing and guiding, I observe. I slow down, notice how light moves through a scene, and let the quiet moments speak for themselves. Photography gives me a space to process without words, to express what I often absorb from the work, and to reconnect with beauty and stillness.
It reminds me that healing isn’t only something I help others find it’s something I’m allowed to cultivate for myself. Behind the lens, I’m reminded that there’s peace and meaning in simply seeing the world as it is, one frame at a time.
