This is our morning huddle, and this is the team that makes it all happen.

What a week. Yesterday, Caroline Taylor and I presented on the main stage at Holistiplan’s Year-End Tax Planning Summit to more than 2,000 advisors and tax professionals. The same day, Rob Taylor and I hosted our clients for a year-end tax and investment webinar with Connor Fitzgerald of J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

Two big presentations in one day do not happen without a team behind them. Slides, logistics, client invitations, follow-ups, and a dozen things nobody sees. This group handles all of it, and they make it look easy.

And now we are in the heart of meeting season. That means sitting down with clients, reviewing the year, and making sure the right moves happen before December 31. It is my favorite time of year, because it is when the planning turns into real results for the families we serve.

After 28 years in this business, I can tell you that the work is only as good as the people doing it. I am lucky to work with the best.

Higher interest rates are good news for anyone who relies on income from bonds. They also change your tax picture in ways that are easy to miss.

Debbie Taylor’s new article walks through what the Fed’s recent rate increase means for retirees and those getting close to retirement. A few of the questions it answers:

Should you sell your bonds when rates rise? For most investors, no.

Can falling bond prices lower your tax bill? Sometimes, and the window to act closes on December 31.

Last week, Debbie Taylor and Caroline Taylor headed to Carson Excell, our firm's national conference, and both took the stage.

Debbie presented on what estate planning means for high-net-worth families in 2026, including the new tax law changes and why plans written under the old rules deserve a fresh look. Caroline co-presented on how technology is changing the way tax planning is delivered.

Sharing ideas with a room full of advisors from across the country is one way we keep bringing the latest thinking back to the families we serve.

It was also a lot of fun. Time with colleagues from around the firm, great conversations, and a front row spot at the Goo Goo Dolls concert made for a week we will not forget. Doing it together made it even better!

When Sarah came to us, over 75% of her $6.6M portfolio was tied up in one tech stock, and past advisors kept telling her to "just diversify slowly."

We took a different approach: reviewed her full tax picture, found a Roth conversion opportunity others had missed, and brought her concentration down from 77% to 30%, carefully, without an unnecessary tax hit.

Midterm season is here, and if you feel a little uneasy watching the headlines, you are not alone.

History gives us some useful context. The run-up to a midterm election tends to bring more market swings than usual. That choppiness is a normal, well-documented pattern, not a sign that something is wrong.

Once results are finalized, markets have historically settled and the months that follow have generally been strong for stocks. As the graph shows, the S&P 500 finished higher in the 12 months following each of the last six midterm elections, going back to 2002. Gains ranged from 2.1% in 2010 to nearly 15% in 2002, but the direction held steady every time.

What actually moves your portfolio day to day is interest rates, inflation, corporate earnings, and productivity gains. Those forces do not pause for an election.

Our guidance stays the same: stay invested, stay diversified, and let your financial plan guide your decisions rather than short-term political noise. If anything changes that outlook, we will reach out.

Last week our team took a break from the office and headed to the US Open, watching Coco Gauff take on Paula Badosa and Alexander Zverev face off against Quentin Halys.

There is something about getting out of the office and into a different environment that reminds a team why they work so well together. The conversations that happen outside of meetings and client calls, over great tennis and even better company, are the ones that make a real difference in how a team shows up for each other and for clients every day. Throwback to Debbie's session at the Carson Q3 Summit in Boston earlier this month, where she spoke about something a lot of our clients quietly deal with: having built real wealth, but feeling stuck when it comes to actually using it.

Selling a business, real estate, or a concentrated stock position often comes with a tax bill big enough to make people put it off for years. Debbie's message: that hesitation usually isn't about the wealth itself, it's about not having a clear plan for the tax side of it.
